The Center for Book Arts is pleased to present the following video:

Illustrated Fine Press: Whittington & Matrix in America
In the summer of 2008, artist Barbara Henry visited the Whittington Press in the Cotswold Hills of England and videotaped her interview with John Randle, founder and proprietor, and other members of the press.

Part I of this video offers a tour of the press during the printing of Matrix, the annual fine press journal produced at the Whittington Press. Click here to watch Part I.

In Part II, artist Miriam Macgregor, who is a frequent collaborator at the Whittington Press, demonstrates her woodblock technique. Click here to watch Part II.

This video was produced by The Center for Book Arts in conjunction with the exhibition Illustrated Fine Printing: Whittington & Matrix in America, which is on view at the Center from September 26 to December 6, 2008. The exhibition will also travel to the Museum of Printing History in Houston, Texas, where it will be on view from January 8 to April 25, 2009.
