NEW! Leather a la Mode
Interested in working with leather but the Middle Ages just aren't your style? Join us for a crash course in modern leatherwork: we'll paste, pare, tool, mold and decorate without the constraints of "historical" binding. After crafting a sleek and simple text block, we'll move directly into leather preparation and application. Finishing techniques such as leather onlay and carbon/blind tooling will also be incorporated into this weekend class. This course provides an excellent bridge for those who want to move on to the more traditional skill set of Binding II or a jumping-off point for artists who want to take the basics and go their own way. Bookbinding I or equivalent required.
