Paper Salon Extravaganza
March 11, 2009

Join us this Friday, March 13, for the next installment of our Book Arts Lounge: we'll be giving ordinary paper the royal treatment, turning hum-drum sheets into crazy and interesting potential pages. We will explore a number of paper treatments, including waxing, crayon batik, paste papers, and orizome (folded/dyed paper). The Center will be transformed into a paper laboratory where we crinkle, iron, dip, drench, paint, and test the physical properties of our materials as they undergo additive processes that lounge lizards will surely find addictive. Finished sheets can be used as decorative papers, as works of art, or however you so choose.

The Center will provide paper and materials, but feel free to bring your own and any interesting pattern-making tools for experimentation.

(Suggested Donation: $10/$5 Members and Students)
