classes in the printshop
NEW! Pressure PrintingCreate atmospheric, layered images on a Vandercook Proof Press using right-reading low-relief stencils and matrices. With pressure printing, most images are created from single press runs; the work to produce them is done away from the press using simple everyday supplies. Each participant will make sample pressure print sketches employing seven methods, and one more in-depth print to be editioned for class exchange. Variables such as paper surface, ink color, carved blocks, and layered images will be addressed, with samples on hand. We will assemble the prints into a drum leaf binding. Everyone will leave with two books: one of print samples and one of the exchange prints. Paper and stencil materials will be provided.
Deadline to register: One week before the class starts.
