The Center for Book Arts

Dear Friend,

In spite of challenging economic circumstances, The Center for Book Arts continues to flourish with innovative programming and important institutional advances. Our achievements are the direct result of your generous support and ongoing dedication to the Center’s important mission. We asked so much of you already this year, yet we must write again to seek your help. By making a tax-deductible, year-end contribution to The Center for Book Arts today, you will help to sustain our vibrant and dynamic programming at this difficult moment and on into our 36th year.

Please Contribute Now to our 2009 Annual Fund drive and help us continue our important mission.  We gratefully acknowledge the individuals and foundations that have contributed to special campaigns between November 2008 and November 2009. Thank you for your continued support.

We have been successful in obtaining restricted funds for special projects and programs, but we must still pay our basic utilities and general operating costs. Your unwavering support energized the Center to reach new levels of capacity, for instance, to install a much-needed new elevator and a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system to bring climate control and improved safety to our facilities. Government and private foundations like the National Endowment for the Arts, the Institute for Museum and Library Services, and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund also provided major grant funding for the Center’s visual, literary, and collections programs. Efforts to improve programs and facilities have received resounding support, yet we continue to struggle to meet the daily costs of operating.

Your donation will help the Center to continue its important work, to bring critical attention to the field of book arts. We recognize that this year has been particularly taxing to the Center’s community of supporters, but we’re confident that we can rely on your patronage as we work to fulfill our mission in our 36th year. Donors of $100 or more will receive a special item from the Center’s letterpress printshop. Please note that this contribution to the Center is for general operations and is not a membership gift.

With the generosity of friends like you, the Center will continue its remarkable success.

Cordially,
Alexander Campos
