Jorge Simes is a Chicago based artist whose work develops in different disciplines. His work currently includes painting, artist's books and works on paper. In the past it has included performances photographed and rendered in book form, printmaking, papermaking and object d'art making. Throughout his career he has been involved in design and applied arts. His work has been exhibited and collected in private and public collections in the United States, Europe and Latin America. Among other distinctions, he has received the New Forms Regional Grant, given by the National Endowment for the Arts, to print one of his artist's books. Simes holds a degree as a Professor in Printmaking and Drawing from the School of Fine Arts, Cordoba, Argentina.
