When I was a child I made storybooks because I loved to draw and paint and make things. As an adult I'm continuing the process with my artist books, infusing them with the ideas, obsessions, personal stories, and philosophy of life that I have acquired over time. I incorporate found objects, altering them to become part of the story I’m telling. I think of my book works as reliquaries, and the book format as a repository for the techniques that interest me as an artist.
Susan Rotolo's work appeared in the following exhibition(s) organized by The Center for Book Arts
