John Ross holds a BFA from Cooper Union. He has taught at Yale, Columbia, the University of Washington, Seattle, and was Chairman of the Art Department at Manhattanville College. Ross was Chief Graphic Artist and Lecturer with the U.I.S.A . exhibit ion Graphic Arts U.S.A. in Romania and Yugoslavia. His many honors include a Tiffany Fellowship, a National Endowment of the Arts Grant, many purchase awards from exhibitions around the U.S. and Europe, and five MacDowell Colony Fellowships. His work is in numerous public collections, including the Whitney Museum, the National Collection of Fine Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Dallas Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the British Library, London. He co-authored with Clare Romano The Complete Printmaker (1972, revised edition 1990 with Tim Ross) and Complete Collagraph (1988). His latest work has explored the artistís book, having published 15 with High Tide press. He was recently honored by the Society of American Graphic Artists of New York City.
