Pentimento Kabbalah Book III

Claire Jeanine Satin, a book artist, sculptor, public art installations, and designer of "art jewelry", with a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA from Pratt Institute. She has exhibited extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe for over 30 years. The artist has received over 10 important grants and fellowships including a Tiffany Grant for Sculpture two Florida Individual Artist Fellowships a $ 15,000 Florida Consortium Grant, an SFA/NEA Fellowship, an award nomination from the American Academy and Institute of Arts & Letters and a grant from the Memorial Foundation of Jewish Culture to create a portfolio/book.

Her works sre in the collections of The Library of Congress; The Getty Center; MOMA, NYC; The Victoria & Albert Museum, London; The National Museum of Women in the Arts; The Ruth & Marvin Sackner Archive of Visual & Concrete Poetry; The Arthur & Mata Jaffe Collection of Books As Aesthetic Objects; The King Stephen Museum, Hungary; The Joan Flasch Library, Art Institute of Chicago, among others.

Over 100 bookworks have been created in the Pentimento Series alone, These refer to the concept of reappearances, hence the use of transparency and thereby visual multiplicity. These ideas emanate from my long term association with the theories of John Cage who I first met in the late 1970's. I am always seeking possibilities for reassembling ideas of phenominal, historical or metaphorical experiences into new aesthetic forms.
