Cristina Pinton, Italy
Although currently living in Italy, Cristina owes most of her arts training to a range of schools and arts programs in the U.S. With a BFA concentration in photography from Alfred University and an MSAE from Massachusetts College of Art, she then continued onto Venice, Italy in 2005 for an MA in printmaking and book arts. She has almost 8 years of teaching experience in a variety of institutional and educational settings, including a youth shelter and prison in Connecticut, the Boston Arts Academy and Academy of the Pacific Rim charter school in Massachusetts, and most recently taught studio arts such as black and white photography and basic book arts at a private study abroad program in Florence, Italy. The diversity of her artistic, educational and professional background feeds into her curious and eager disposition as artist and teacher. Whether she is teaching or creating, working in woodcut or photography, charcoal or sewing, she pulls visual imagery and inspiration from her immediate environment, merging it with symbols and ideas of memory, personal history and family.
