Sweet Nothings
Woven book leaves
Sweet Nothings is an altered version of the Penguin Poetry version of Shakespeare’s Sonnets. Incisions have been made between the words of each of the 154 sonnets to create a lattice into which blank strips of paper have been woven on either side of each leaf. 22cm(w) x 14cm(d) x 10.5cm(h) 2009

Struggle for Existence

Struggle for Existence is taken from a series of fictional excerpts and short stories created by reducing and reconstructing the text of single chapters of The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. Each story is recreated in a contemporary genre, comprising only words from a particular chapter. The words are cut out, re-ordered and placed in their original format of book leaves. 22xm x 15cm (each page of two) 2007
