Sweet Nothings is an altered version of the Penguin Poetry version of Shakespeare’s Sonnets. Incisions have been made between the words of each of the 154 sonnets to create a lattice into which blank strips of paper have been woven on either side of each leaf.

Struggle for Existence

Struggle for Existence is taken from a series of fictional excerpts and short stories created by reducing and reconstructing the text of single chapters of The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. Each story is recreated in a contemporary genre, comprising only words from a particular chapter. The words are cut out, re-ordered and placed in their original format of book leaves.
