This book documents a journey through Macedonia and Thrace through photographs, printmaking, text, and sound, and uses a complex book structure that invites the viewer to be engaged in every aspect of the travels.

Elysa Voshell is an artist, curator, and writer whose work investigates the embodiment of place through an interdisciplinary practice centered in book arts. She holds an MA in Book Arts from Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London, and an MLA in Visual & Curatorial Studies and a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Pennsylvania. She exhibits internationally and has work included in museum and library collections worldwide. Elysa is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including a Special Opportunity Stipend from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a Window of Opportunity Award from the Leeway Foundation, a Residency Fellowship from the Collins Foundation, and the Stein Family Scholarship for Advanced Studies in Book Arts from the Center for Book Arts. She has published essays and reviews in Print, The Blue Notebook, and the Dutch magazine Stereo, and her work was featured in 500 Artists Books. From 2008 to 2009, Elysa served as the Exhibits & Events Board Chair of the Philadelphia Center for the Book. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles, where she produces artists' books under the imprint After Nostalgia Press and is the Gallery & Public Programs Manager at Venice Arts.
