Tmima was born in Vilnius, Lithuania and moved to Israel. Early in life she displayed artistic proficiency and at sixteen she got accepted on a full scholarship, to the Art Academy Bezalel in Jerusalem. Tmima lived, worked and exhibited in Europe. Her early works include drawings and paintings.
She moved to New York City, and started working on sculpture. Tmimaís exhibitions are written about in numerous art and news papers and magazines, including the N.Y. Times. Her art is in many permanent collections. Tmima devotes all her time to art. The most striking aspect about Tmimaís work is her creation of an imaginary world. The bold and creative choices of materials and subject matter, of such a varied nature; wood, metal, organic and inorganic, all come together in visual harmony.
