Tmima was born in Vilnius, Lithuania and moved to Israel. Early in life she displayed artistic proficiency and at sixteen she got accepted on a full scholarship, to the Art Academy Bezalel in Jerusalem. Tmima lived, worked and exhibited in Europe. Her early works include drawings and paintings.

She moved to New York City, and started working on sculpture. Exhibitions include; Rina Gallery, NYC, Rosenfield Gallery, Inc., Tel-Aviv, Israel, Represented Israel in the "Young Artist", Fourth Biennial International Exhibition, NYC, Represented Russia in Britain’s First International Naïve Art Exhibit, Hamilton Gallery, London, Gallery Kikhaar, Amsterdam, Safrai Gallery, Jerusalem, Israel, Islip Art Museum, NY, "3-D Media" - 1st Place, Fine Arts Museum of Long Island, Hempstead, New York, 1st Place large sculpture installation, Nassau County Museum of Art - Judges Choice Award , The Heckscher Museum of Art, NY, 1st Place Award of Excellence. Tmima’s exhibitions are written about in numerous art and news papers and magazines, including the N.Y. Times. Her art is in many permanent collections. Tmima devotes all her time to art. The most striking aspect about Tmima’s work is her creation of an imaginary world. The bold and creative choices of materials and subject matter, of such a varied nature; wood, metal, organic and inorganic, all come together in visual harmony.
