My work is driven by my interests in objects, buildings, and bodies in public space. This terrain includes constructions of gender and race, as well as public and political conceptions of safety and safe keeping, inflected with echoes of personal histories. I am influenced by the aesthetics of the processes I use most—screenprinting, woodcut, and letterpress, and am interested in working with them in conjunction with contemporary technical possibilities and ways of thinking. I often work in projects or series, using multiple frames to explore layers of meaning or nested and conflicting levels of conceptual detail. |
