The work is rooted in my training in sculpture and my urge to communicate. It is always an exploration of a particular story I have needed to tell. The form that best tells, insinuates, inculcates or whispers the tale is chosen. If the story is the destination, the structure is the engine and the words and image are the fuel and the oxygen. The outcome is an integrated, intimate artwork that drives the viewer somewhere close to a destination. The stories are a complex, mutable array of parables, memoirs, invented or examined lives and curious stories with mysterious meanings that are new for each individual who chooses to spend time with them. There are many forks in the road. The end of the journey is not clear. The reader must complete each story him or herself.
